For as long as we've been tailgating before Brewers games and grabbing late-night eats at George Webb, Milwaukee has been a hamburger kind-of town. While those culinary traditions won't be dissipating any time soon, the local burger landscape has more recently opened its parameters to let its step-cousin, the veggie burger, in on the fun.
Tomorrow, besides selecting the future of this country, your vote gets you a few free things. Milwaukee's business owners, urging citizens to get out and make a difference, offer goods on them to thank you for exercising your political right.
Why do Milwaukeeans like grilling so much? Is it just an excuse to be outside for a few more minutes? Is it because we so often tie grilling into tailgating? Perhaps it's just a primal urge to cook over an open fire. Maybe we just like brats.
